4. When you think of your father (or grandfather) cleaning, what do you see him doing?
My father has a totally different philosophy and method about cleaning from my mother's. There is a big cleaning day on Dec 31, the last day of the year, in Japan. (It's a traditional custom.) He cleans and repairs the yard, then removes the screens on the windows and brushes them all, cleans all the windows using Windex (my mother doesn't like the chemicals so she doesn't use it often), then cleans the bath room, and at the end he washes his car. Then, after all the cleanings, he drives the washed car to the supermarket to buy a new year wreath. His way of cleaning seems to be organized and he seems to know what he has to do. From my point of view, cleaning seems to be an endless task to my mother, but my father seems to know how to finish it. (He doesn't clean every day, though.)
