3. When you think of your mother (or grandmother) cleaning, what do you see her doing?
When I think of my mother cleaning, it's always standing in front of a sink washing dishes. The warm water helps the circulation in her hands, she says. She sings when she's washing dishes. Never quite a full song but a collection of choruses strung together from different tunes. When my mother sings I know she's content, and I'm always quiet, hoping she'll go on and on.
